At AlphaOne, we are a team of former medical students, residents, fellows, and attendings with a background in engineering who are frustrated with the lack of reproducibility and rigorous engineering standards in scientific data analysis. The healthcare training experience highlighted the urgent need for robust and transparent data practices, as well as the need for major improvements in healthcare infrastructure. We weren’t trained in answering LeetCode questions, nor did we read “Cracking the Coding Interview”, but we recognize the innumerable healthcare frustrations that can be solved by well established engineering practices.
